Adolescences are an impressionable age or role models replicating stage, they take them from all areas that are close at hand in their society, whether mass media, parents and family or their teachers. An individual’s personal and social values and skills is that complex of knowledge, values, attitudes and abilities which contribute to the development of a sound moral character, as a sense of community and competence is responding to the personal, social and cultural aspects of life. This social maturity scale was used with a view to achieve two practical goals. The first was to attain a theoretical backdrop, which has the prospect of ensuring an operational concept of social maturity with its social and individual relevance. The second and the more pragmatic goal have been to evolve a precise and dependable measure of social maturity applicable to the normal school/college children. This period of adolescence requires proper guidance and counseling by parents and teachers for the adequate adjustment of children in class room environment and also in the society.
"Maturity is learning to walk away from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind, self respect, values, moral or self worth".
